Doesn't look any worse than any other I have seen!

(Kidding! put down the knife!)

That doesn't look all that bad, to me.
Pretty easy to fix, really.

Its bad but nothing that a bead blaster and a refinishing job can't take care of.Is that an evidence tag on it?

Wonder if it could be blood. Blood is very corrosive on metal.

Very true. My grandfather was issued a stainless bayonet in japan for WW2.

Fighting in the bamboo for months.

Thing is a big rusted knife now. Blood will eat metal like you wouldn't believe

Stainless steel do rust. Just expose it to any salinity environment and the reaction will occur.

Is that even real rust? Look at the rear most pin on on the frame it looks like their is some brown on the plastic frame just outside of that pin.

With that camo job, all it needs it somebody with a sodering iron to stipple the **** out of that thing and then put it on GB for $1200 as a combat special. Seriously, I would buy that for a project if the price were right. It looks like some fun waiting to happen. I was just kidding about the stippling though.

Never know...may be an early model that had the slide rusting issue which would mean free repair from S&W.

Fitting the barrel through the slide was like biting down on a fork and pulling it through your teeth. But as bad and nasty as it was, the action still felt solid and healthy. I'd kinda like to get it from him as a project. Been wanting an excuse to cerekote an M&P.
