Ported 40 Cal model 10100

I love my M&P 40 Cal Pro. Now S&W has a ported model. Is there a big enough difference in the muzzle flip between the two weapons to warrant spending $700 for the new model? I've called S&W and the one person who may know hasn't returned my call. It's only been two weeks. If the recoil/flip is only 5-7 percent why spend the $, however, if the muzzle flip is 25% less then I want one. S&W, send me a model 10100 for Christmas!

I've never shot a ported pistol, but I've watched Jerry Miculek's video on ported pistols vs. non-ported. His vids show a significant reduction in muzzle flip.

Also visit the Magna-port website and see what they have to say. When its time for me to buy a range pistol, it will definitely have a ported barrel.

I probably wouldn't go with porting on a .40s&w myself. Porting/Comps tend to work best with faster/lighter bullets and magnums. If you shoot lead they will get buildup in the ports which is hard to clean, a louder report and increase in muzzle flash. If you plan on shooting any competition you might find that porting isn't allowed or puts you into a different class. If you still want to go that way someplace like Mag-n-port can port your gun barrel and slide and then you can pick up a second barrel and swap back and forth.

Good suggestions...thank you.. Somebody out there must have those scientific test results with a correct answer. I could guess and say 5% or maybe 15%.
