POSSIBLE SCAM

Probebly Nigeria. They work even with a false paypal website. It looks that they have donate the money. You can see it on an account. But when you link it to your own paypal account it is never there. It is a scam.

Between the forum email accounts and my personal one, it is not unusual to get 30-40 scam emails per day.

SIMPLE RULE-
NEVER do anything involving an account you actually have from an email link!

Read that again-
NEVER do anything involving an account you actually have from an email link!

If you need to check on one of your accounts, LOG IN to the website itself.

Do NOT click links in those emails!
Do NOT open attachments in those emails!

On the others that don't involve your accounts:
You did NOT win a lottery.
A Marine in Iraq is NOT shipping three barrels of $100 bills to you.
The UN and the FBI are NOT compensating you for being harassed by scammers.
The old lady dying of cancer is NOT sending you 12 million dollars to bless God's children with.
That crooked banker in Hong Kong is NOT going to split the 8 million his dead client left with you.

Your cell phone bill is probably NOT $4683. If you're worried, check through your phone company, NOT that email.
The email on your online banking site was probably NOT changed, but again, if you want to check, check on the WEBSITE or with the bank, NOT through that email.

I have trouble believing anybody is dumb enough to fall for some of the ones I get, but they keep coming.....

I actually got an email from The FBI for just that reason!

NO WAY The FBI would scam an Amercian - NO WAY.

I DID TOO!! It was the lottery in Mozambique, and I never bought a ticket, but all I have to do is pay my $2739.54 in taxes and they will send me $1,450,000! They promised!

Another scam, told to me by a local bank official, involves you actually receiving a certified check with instructions to cash it and send them a part of the amount "for their expenses". Even for bank officials it's difficult to tell, by examination, if it's legit. Of course it isn't and bounces, but a week or 10 days later. You then have to return the $ to the bank and are out any amount you returned. The gal I talk to told me she has been bullied by people to cash the check, dispite her warnings.

I am receiving order cancellation notices (a bunch) from Amazon. That's strange because I opened an account there but never supplied payment method info, and have never ordered anything.

i have been getting the same messages for the past three weeks...........they go right to the delete button..........just some more nonsense to lure the curious

I got almost the exact email for my boat on CL. I did answer and tell him cash or postal MO. He still tried to scam me with paypal as he said he was at an overseas base and had to use pay pal. I didn't reply.
