I own a VGC, S&W 57, 6" barrel, 3T's, RR/WO, P&R, blue steel, no box or papers, that is the least used of my four .41 magnums. Shortly after I got it I got a 4" 25-5 which carried a little easier and was more pleasant to shoot. I never really warmed up to that gun.

A neighbor who is a fed LEO offered to swap me a S&W MP-15 in 300 Blackout for it. I have wanted a 300 Blackout for some time. Money wise, would I be making a mistake doing this swap? The rifle is near new.

Thanks.

It sound like a fair deal to me. Right now, they're both 700-800 dollar guns. The M-15 is more of a commodity. You don't say how old your M57 is, but in any case, it's appreciating value. It's worth more every year. At best, the M-15 will hold it's value. They make more exactly like it every day.

I think you answered your own question. :D

Seeing you own 3 more 41 magnums to me it's the trade is a no brainer.

A matter of preference and up to you. I am surprised 57's haven't jumped in value like most other N frames but still expect to see it any time.
