A Pre 32 in 38 S&W

Here is my pre-32. It dates to 1939 or 1940. I just walked into the gun-shop one day and there it was. I truly enjoy the Victories and the Terriers. Now if I could just find more time to enjoy shooting them. It is serial #52362

I am also including a picture of him with his cousins, a Pre-36 Chief Special dating to 1955, and a pre-37 Airweight dating to 1956.

Enjoy

S&W Oldtimer,

Your picture didn't show up and I'd love to see it, but even more, I would like to know the SN range, especially if it is confirmed by letter or other solid documentation. Why? Because I would like to know whether my early post-War .32 HE snubbie is a '49er, since that's my birth year! :D If it looks even close, I'll do the deed and get it lettered, but I'd like to know going in whether it's likely. I'd also like to know about a confirmed SN range for the same vintage Terriers for the same reason.

TIA ~ Froggie

jc, those are beauties!

green, the serial numbers seem to be all over the place on the 32s. some are WAY lower than scosw even puts in the 4-line address area.
i'd say that if it has the small service stocks, and they are numbered to it, you have a real good chance that it is from '49. it seems to me like they went to the magnas very quickly, maybe even still in '49. i definitely know of several lettered from 1950 with the serial numbered magnas.
