I have been reading many threads of late that center around light strikes and other issues with aftermarket trigger groups installed in the 15-22.

Seemed like it might be a good idea to collect experiences in a single thread.

So, if you have experience with a particular manufacturer's trigger (great, OK, any anomalies, etc.), and you would like to share, please do so in this thread.

In my case, I have an ALG ACT trigger installed in my 15-22. The only anomalies I've experienced were light strikes, which were the result of my own spring installation problem. Once corrected, it runs well with any ammo, and has a beautifully crisp carrot like break.

CMC works like a champ with no issues. Had a Timney but besides FTF due to light strikes, I also had stovepipes and other FTE. I still don't understand how a trigger group can cause all those issues but they all went away when I replaced the Timney with the CMC. Didn't clean the gun between change and used same box of ammo. Went from several failures per magazine to absolutely no FTF and just a few FTE After a couple thousand rounds

I have a Rock River 2 -Stage in one of my 15-22's. Runs like a champ.

CMC trigger installed here. I had a few light strikes right off the bat on the first day. But after that it has been perfect. I think the break in period was 100rds.

Of all my desired up grades to the 15-22, the trigger is the one that I think really needs to be done. That being said, are they as easy as they appear to install? The one piece units look simple, the others look more like the original trigger and those don't look that simple to me.

Just a side note, Isn't true that all the aftermarket triggers were designed to work on center fire ammo and not rim fire?

I dropped in a Jard 3# adjustable trigger shortly after buying my 15-22 early last year. After some initial "dialing in", it's run flawlessly since. It's currently breaking at a crisp 2lbs-10oz consistently.

I have had 3 different triggers in my 15-22s plus spring packages.
1. Stock- creepy and heavy
2. Stock + JP- still creepy but much lighter.
3. RRA (PC)-Heavy but fairly smooth
4. RRA + JP- smooth and light, but slow reset and lockup.
5. Geissele S3G- Smooth, fast with a clean pull.
6. Geissele S3G + JP- ditto for above but the pull of a match trigger.
I have used these setups in both a PC and Standard model and they feel the same. #6 does work for me but may not for others. I get no light strikes but then I use very little lube also, so nothing will impede the FP. RCBS trigger gauge says pull is 1 lb 4 oz.

Wow! #6 is incredibly light pull. Fart next to that gun and it might go off!!

I use RRA 2-stage, works great.

AFTERMARKET TRIGGERS

I wouldn't do it MYSELF now matter how much of a DROP IN they CLAIM it is, it doesn't always turn out to be exactly a "drop in". IF the smith (or you DIY) puts in the right trigger group correctly then you should be OK. BUT IMO with improvements you increase the odds of a light firing pin strike. everything comes with a price. I've had great to not so great results. some my fault, some the mfg and some the smith's.

Like others have said above...Rock River 2 stage. Zero problems and I am VERY happy.

RRA Match, zero problems
Unknown brand aftermarket, zero problems but not much improvement over stock.
Stock with JP Enterprises spring kit, no problems and in the gun now.
Jard 1.5# adjustable, constant light strikes. Back at Jard now for their opinion.

I got a pair of Geissele SSA triggers. One for the 15-22 and the other for a 15-T. Yes, they are easy to install after the first one.

The first one took about 20 minutes and the second about 5 minutes! Nothing cosmic about the installation but you have to pay attention.

These triggers are a little pricey but, in my opinion, are well worth the money. I would do it again if the opportunity presented itself.
