You actually have donuts left over?![]()
He shouldn't have. The last of them were eaten by my scanner crew. Oops, what a giveaway....

This serial number thing can be more of a pain than some of you realise, especially in the milsurp world. It is not uncommon for similar guns to have identical serial numbers. For example, IIRC it is possible for three different types of Enfield to have the same serial. How many different contract Mausers have the serial A1234 I cannot image. If you have ever looked at what a dealer writes on a 4473 it can be less than helpful to resolve potential problems.
I also look at it this way. If somebody through genuine or malicious intent reports a gun you post as stolen, you are in for a lot of grief with your local law enforcement and/or the ATF. You also stand a good chance of having your collection seized while the matter is resolved in some jurisdictions. Once seized are they ALL coming back? No offense to the LEO community, but nice/unusual guns going AWOL from property storage is hardly unknown. Then you have to worry about the condition of your firearms when they are returned. Your pristine Garand is not going to look so cherry after a few weeks on the bottom of the crate with who knows what piled on top.
