Prayer request for hsguy. UPDATES post #59 and #61

John is settling into his hospital room. He is feeling chipper and said he will work on posting pics of the beautiful scenery outside his window tomorrow.

My late husband had a similar deal, massive killer chemo and stem cell transplant 15years ago. He tolerated it well and was cancer free when he passed from other health issues 7 years post transplant. His was a clinical trial at Mayo Clinic, he was the 1st patient over age 60 to have it. It is now a standard protocal for several types of cancer.
The journey isn't a walk in the park but it isn't too bad. John, you have a positive attitude about it and faith in your medical team, you got it!
But some extra prayers are always good so adding mine too.

John's sister just emailed a "send a card" request.

Fred and I received this update from John's sister:

"It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 weeks since John’s transplant. We went to the clinic for bloodwork and a visit yesterday and the great news is the engraftment looks to have taken very well. John’s numbers continue to slowly rise, he is eating small meals and continuing to take short walks every day."

All things considered his spirit and outlook are infectiously upbeat.

Please continue to keep John in your thoughts and prayers as he still has a journey ahead of him.

Thank you.

This made my night.

I just received a text from John. His appointment today went very well. He is gaining weight and has been cleared to drive. He is still in semi-isolation but he can now drive himself to his medical appointments. He has made astounding progress much sooner than expected.

If I could bottle his attitude I would be on Easy Street.

Thanks to all for supporting him.
