We just got this email from Deb, John's sister.
"John let us know yesterday that he is able to taste sweet again, and that the “Cookie Monster has returned”! This is fantastic news—a hope-inspiring bit of progress and something that will
make eating less of a ‘treatment’ and something more enjoyable. I know you’ve all heard that saying, “Life is uncertain; eat dessert first.” Go for it, John!"
Me: The last I spoke with him he was effervescent, feeling good and pining to wet a hook.
He still has a while before his immune system returns to battle readiness.
His recovery is progressing well ahead of schedule (he's a good boy and does what he's told).
Please throw a prayer or thought towards the SW corner of Lake Michigan.
Thanks.
