Update: The nurse called me last night with the results. There were a few irregular heartbeats but nothing to cause concern. I wasn't surprised. I didn't feel any signs of afib the two days I wore the monitor, and haven't felt anything since. And my heartrate has been normal. She said she would talk to the stand-in cardiologist (mine is still on maternity leave), and he may order a event monitor. I couldn't get much info from her, so I googled it. It's about the same as a holter, except it doesn't continuously record. It only records when you feel something going on. The downside is you wear it for 2-4 weeks. I don't expect to hear anything until next week, but I really don't see where an event monitor is necessary at this point. Since the cardioversion in April, I've only had the one time when I felt something like afib. So even if I wore a monitor for a month, I don't think it's going to do any good. If I start having more afib signs a event monitor may help. But one "event" over the last 3 months doesn't seem like a reason to wear an event monitor. Hopefully the Dr. won't order one. It'll save me from having to argue with him! So that's where things stand right now.
