Pre-M24 1950 Target in NICKEL

Dick,

This is not only a very rare gun, but it's beautiful too and with what certainly appears to be the original box.

What a wonderful find. Congratulations!

Tom

Twogunnes,
I have been told that there is one 4" engraved nickel Pre-Model 24. I have never seen it nor do I know who owns it.

Had a nickel .44 Special Model of 1950 some years back. But it had the "R-N in the rectangle" on the frame under the LH stock. Someone wanted it worse than I, so it went away before it got lettered.

I will be honest, I was one of those "why own a 44 special" people until I bought one. The contour of the barrel, like a model 15 is just, for lack of a better term, just sexy...

Beautiful gun

GREAT DICK. I'm adicted as well.

FOLKS, you DO know the box is rarer than the gun?

Happy it's together. Is it SNed on the rear????
Dan

The serial number is written on the bottom of the box. If I remember correctly, the box to Jim Fisher's gun is identical - except for serial number.

Dick,
With the box sticking with the gun that probably means it was in collecter's hands all of it's life.

Has it been shot?

Hi
Well i guess i need to post pictures of my 44 nickel.
This one has the blued front sight that was standard with these models.
this gun is 99% and has not been fired since it left the factory (see picture of recoil).
It was shipped on July 9 1954 to Rex fireams. I have held in my hands 4 other 1950
Nickel models and I know of one other one but that is all I can account for.
enjoy the pictures

Jim Fisher

You can count the number of these beauties on two hands, and we have seen two of them here. Thanks for the forum. OD
