fake label (too obvious)
BP box (too late)
5 hole corners usually target stocks box (taller)
am I close?
I totally dismissed the box corners since the box is so much later production...
It should be pre BP w/ solid border but if indeed Magna stocks, I believe it should only have 4 ring corners.
Are we (S&W collectors) about to see the same fake boxes that has plagued the Pony collectors for a while now? Even though some of those have been well copied, this is just a bad fake label on the wrong box. Be on the lookout gentlemen.
BTW, going by the one picture, that's a pretty nice shooter 5 screw CM. Might do better selling by itself without the NON original box.
By the way, since it is a "Pre" Model 15, how come it has a "15" in the "Model No." box on the label, Hmmm, a Pre model why does the Label even have a "Model No" box????
I recently sold a Pre17 and included the gold box I had picked up for it. The box had no numbers on the bottom. Not too long after, I learned the buyer had sold it to a friend. Anywho...later I saw the same gun for sale on GB by a large volume seller and it included the "original box" with the correct numbers on the bottom in black grease pencil. Caveat Emptor.
