Preferred cleaners and lubricators

For me Hoppe's for cleaning the bore and internals, Mobil 1 synthetic for lube, and spray Rem oil for wiping down the outside of the gun if blued.

What cleaners/lubes have you tried, which ones are you most/least satisfied with and why?

Upon firing I tried CLP to clean the barrel, slide, and surrounding areas and then Lubricated with the Outer's oil that came with a kit. No complaints here, but I'm very interested to see if anyone has used a 0W-20, 0W-30, plain 0W or any other viscosity full synthetic motor oils versus oils that are labeled specifically for pistols and what your experience has been.

Car motor oil is for, well - cars. Use Hoppes No. 9 for bore solvent and Break Free CLP for a light lube. Available everywhere and still doing the job as good as any of the new stuff and better than most.

I have used Breakfree CLP, Frog Lube, Weapons Shield, and Ballistol. All work pretty well and give good results. I haven't tried synthetic motor oil, and probably won't.

I prefer Ballistol for general cleaning and lube.
Works great on my pistol and M&P 15 Sport.

Breakfree CLP is my number one choice. Homemade Ed's Red is number two.

I've dabbled with Slip 2000 EWL, Outers, Hoppes, and others that I can't remember.

I really like Bore Tech products. Work well and smell pleasant.

Welcome to Bore Tech Inc

I've used everything listed in this thread and more. Nothing has worked better for removing copper than Boretech cleaner. They have specific copper and carbon removers that actually work!!! Though the basic cleaner does a damn good job all around.

I haven't tried the Boretech oil yet so can't comment on it.

I also keep ballistol around and use it on everything that needs lube. It is a decent cleaner too. I wipe down all of my guns with ballistol, it makes wood and bluing really shine.

I used break free clp for a long time, and never really had any complaints except that it was a pretty mild cleaner.

I have been using Weaponshield for about a year now and will likely stay with it. It works really well and seems to clean better, lube better, and protect against rust and corrosion equally as well as break free clp.

I do keep some butches bore shine on hand for the really leaded barrels, and I've used Outers foaming bore cleaner on a couple of barrels that were almost hopeless and they both worked really well for me.

I will say that I have thought about trying the M-Pro 7 cleaner, but haven't bought any yet...

I use Hoppes, non-chlorinated brake cleaner (same as Gun Scrubber at 1/5th the cost and Mobil 1 oil.
