Near new 1937 Brazilian contract (1946)
Thought I'd show MY Brazil contract 1917. Delivered to Brazil in December of 1946 (month & year of my birth). It operates & feels like new, with a bit of cosmetic storage wear. Someone ramped the front sight, But it IS easier to see & OK with me.
In addition to my good fortune of finding, & affording it. I then found a like new set of period Magna grips + a NOS Leather Holster made for it. I have the original grips but prefer shooting it with the Magnas, & prefer the full moon clips.
Some 20 years ago a local surplus store, had a barrel of Surplus, German Made, Brazilian Short Artillery Swords - they were practically giving away. Beautifully made with a leather clad scabbard. I've never regretted buying it. I imagine it may have been used more as a machete than in combat.
Mine does not have its LEATHER FROG, & I'm LOOKING FOR ONE....
