Presentation Case Question

Hi, I am a new member to these forums. I have a 1981 Model 29 that I bought new. The material in the case has completely deteriorated. I want to get this looking new again. Hopefully as close to original as possible without spending too much money. I still have the original plastic insert and foam that needs to be rematerialed. My wood case still looks good.

I was wondering what the exact color was of the material used back then. As I recall, it was a dark blue. My guess would be navy blue. Pictures of some of the cases I see on here look like a lighter blue than I recall mine being (maybe a royal blue). Does anyone know for sure the exact color of the presentation case from back then?

Reason I am asking is I am considering redoing it with Flock It. The dark blue colors they have available are navy blue and royal blue (also royal purple, but I don't think it was purple).

Many of you seem very knowledgeable. Any input greatly appreciated.
