Primers are getting harder to find

I was at my local Cabelas yesterday, didn't need any, and it's a good thing, as they only had about 500 Remington Large Rifle Magnum primers, and 200 Shotgun primers. There self-defense handgun ammo shelves had been picked over pretty hard too. As I would have expected no .223 brass in sight, and the bullets for reloading .22 caliber were almost non-existent.

Stupid me about two weeks ago i was going to order $500 worth of primers, gun powder and bullets maybe more $$ and did not. Today i found out of stock on all the primers i need everywhere. I have enough to reload for now so i can wait till the frenzy is all over i hope.

Last time I was over there they had plenty of everything. I pickedup a thousand and thought that was plenty. Live and learn, I have gone through them plinking here and will just have to wait.

People are hoarding the stuff and it makes it tough on people like me

So if you had a prudent reserve before the last "Event" were you hoarding or looking ahead?

Quit with the whining...This cycle has been happening long before Bill Clinton was running for office.Plan ahead and save for such times. Or pay the going price because Walmart shelves are bare..

Sorry but.................

Hahahahahahahahahaha:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Okay, so you don't buy the cheap stuff...how about "9mm Primers -CCI Magmun Sm Pistol No.550 Qty 1000 $185.00"

Since when did 9mm start using the elusive "Magmun" primers?

Looks like .223 started using Magmuns too "223 small rifle CCI Magmun Primers #450 Qty1000 $185.00."

I wish GB still let me search for "Completed Auctions" as I know a brick of Small Rifle primers just ended for $106. Now what was that famous quote by PT Barnum?

I would have to be quite desperate.

I called my local gunstore guy who is a friend and he was out of all pistol primers but he had some powder left that is good for pistol reloading and sold me three one pound cans for his price which hasn't changed since this all C__P started. He said he had no idea when he would get more primers in. I'm OK for now and hopefully have enough to wait this out without having to spend to much over the norm to keep reloading.

You guys got me worried so I had to go check and, man, you are right!
I'm almost out!

Look!

Oh, wait, then I remembered the OTHER primers I had!
DUH! Old age settling in, I guess!

No primer shortage here, but, man, I almost forgot about these! :D

Tula are next on my list when things settle down a bit. Probably get 5,000 large rifle, 5,000 small rifle, 5,000 large pistol magnum and 5,000 small pistol.

If it works like last time, I will get a notice from a current online supplier with a limited supply at old prices. I will buy then. Hazmat over 20,000 primers is minimal. You can buy 40,000 on one hazmat fee. Get your buds together after the shortage and cause another one! Hahahaha

I've stocked enough pistol primers, however I was left short on powder when my greedy LGS sold the 8LBs of Unique I ordered to a rich jackmule who offered them big $$ for all their Unique. Same guy bought all their small and large pistol primers.
