Primers are getting harder to find

I've stocked enough pistol primers, however I was left short on powder when my greedy LGS sold the 8LBs of Unique I ordered to a rich jackmule who offered them big $$ for all their Unique. Same guy bought all their small and large pistol primers.

In my mind, another LGS is in order! ;)

No primer shortage here, but, man, I almost forgot about these! :D

Somehow your picture reminds me of this...:D
Do you think you used enough dynamite - YouTube

It is a good idea if you are a shooter to invest in what you can shoot. I had a gun store clerk tell me in 2008 that he was OK as he bought 500 primers when he had the chance. I didn't have the heart to tell him that would be short afternoon for us.

I missed the frist shortage in 08 and 09 so I had no idea what was going to happen. I was out of reloading for over 10 years and didn't know it was going to be this bad. Skip you Buckethead thats a heck of a supply you have there. Which road and what side. LOL I wouldn't dare even drive by his place in fear on getting blown up. I never did stock up like that because shops were close and had all I wanted. Now the shops are gone and what I have to travel to are out. Oh well Idid without them for several years I will just have to do it again.

bruno's shooting supply has small pistol primers in stock. at only 45.00 a brick plus hazmet.

I just bought 5K Winchester SP Magnum primers from a local store yesterday. I think I paid ~$180 after tax.

I was in a Casino in Oklahoma today when I got a call from a friend that said he was in a gun store 12 miles from me and they had pistol primers. I left the Casino and hot footed it down there and they had the large pistol primers I wanted so I bought 2K. Their price was steep at $50 for 1K but there are not anymore around here or online so I bought them. While there I noticed they had Winchester 231 Powder and it was $22 a pound so I picked up 2 pounds of it.

Was it more then I wanted to pay, heck yes, but do I regret buying it seeing there aren't any more around here and the answer to that is NO.

Nothing around here except large rifle...

Online auctions are getting $80 & up per 1,000 for small/large pistol & small rifle. It's sad.

I'm out!!!

Iordered some SP primers from Bruno's and we will see what happens. They said they are way behind on orders so probily run out just before they get to mine. :(

Bruno's called me today and said it would be a little over a $100 for a brick so I declined. Thats getting a little out of hand. I have a brick of Large rifle primers( Winchester WLR ) I would trade for a brick of small pistol but Hazmat fees it wouldn't be worth it. I need to find a neighbor that will trade.

I've been pretty fortunate. My LGS still has CCI & Federal, both large & small pistol in stock at $31.00. They have put a 1 brick/day limit on purchases. Suits me since I have a better chance of them being in stock.

Few days ago grafs had LPP in stock for only $145 per case (5000 pcs) shipped and including hazmat fee.

Sorry to learn that your dealer is a backstabbin' mercenary cutthroat jerk.
Jerk.Jerk.Jerk.
I don't know you and I surely don't know your dealer. But he is a jerk.
I reckon you will have his number from this day forward so long as ye both shall live, eh?

Yeah, I don't understand why someone running a business would sell their merchandise to someone standing there with cash, and not hold it back in case someone else might happen to want some at some indefinite time in the future.

"May happen to want some" is a wholly different case than "sold my order to someone else."

Yea I got his number, he's off my list. I traded a brick of LR primers for 400 sp primers, thats all he had and he is a good friend and has gave me plenty of lead and has more if I need it.
