I think that the shortages of reloading components which have plagued us show signs of easing. So I have hopes for this fall.
But we are still primerless around here, not surprising since very few local people ever stock much in the way of components.
I typically buy on-line but I don't want to pay the haz-mat fee for a few primers and my usual supplier is not taking backorders.
A friend will be passing through Houston and I thought it might be possible for him to pick-up a few hundred large & small pistol primers while there to tide us over. If anyone has any idea of where he might look, I promise we will only buy a couple of hundred (perhaps a thousand).

A couple of weeks ago, Carter's Country on the SW Freeway (HWY 59) had small pistol primers for sale but had a 300 max purchase. If you hit them 2 days in a row, you might be able to get more or hit all of their stores in town the same day. Powder was a 1 pound limit.

Smith17;
Thanks very much. It's very generous of you and I appreciate it, sort of like giving a complete stranger the location of your favorite fishing hole.

I was actually visiting while helping to officiate a conference track meet but was familiar enough with Houston to attempt to go to one of the local gunstores. I was trespassing onto the locals' fishing spot.
