Lately a local WalMart has had Privi Partizan 5.56 at a "reasonable" price ($7.95/20). Is this decent ammo? I have no experience with it.

They also consistently have Independence brand. The box says imported from Israel by Federal. Another label I have not experience with. The price is not great in it, but any thoughts on Independence ammo?

Independence is good enough. I also recently got some Israel military rounds from a friend and they are clean and hot. Probably the only foreign ammo I'd shoot. I personally stay away from any other foreign stuff. If I remember right Priv is from Serbia or somewhere. Might cost less but I sure do hate religiously cleaning foreign gunk. But ammo is ammo if thats all you can find, as long as it goes boom.

Have you ever even tried PPU? Clean, reloadable, match grade available oh and contracted to supply US along with Israel.

I've used Prvi rifle ammunition and found it surprisingly accurate and consistent. That was the feedback from others as well. I have not shot their 5.62 but their metrics and 7mm-08 have been good. Good brass too.

Yessir. Just about the only ammo I found for a while at wally was PPU. It's the same price as federal m193 which is finally sticking around. The 9mm PPU makes worse crud in my m&p. Every man to his own. It's not bad, but at the price there's other options. I'd buy it again if limited, but not a case.

I haven't shot the Privi ammo but the Federal Independence ammo is good to go.

I dlnt have any 9 PPU. I do have 223, 303, 8mm, 7.62x39 and 7.62x54. Last month I shot about 50 rounds of 303 and it took 3 patches to get the barrel clean.

PPU does indeed make some fine ammo. I'm very fond of their 308 168gr MBTHP as it rivals Federal Gold Medal Match in my Savage at about $6 a box less than the cheapest FGMM I've ever found.

The brass is nice too for us reloaders.

I've shot a bunch of the Independence 55gr. No problems at all and no dirtier than XM193.
