I almost ordered one but I live in Southern California and it is hard to find a gun shop that will order anything. They don't want someone calling them every week asking if their order came in. The one shop I found who was willing to place an order for a PS627 for me said it might be six months or more than a year before S&W shipped them one. Even the big shops don't stock those, at least not anywhere I have seen. When another shop had a S&W seven shot 686+ available, and willing to give me a deal for $850 cash out the door, that was good enough for me. Maybe someday I will get a 627.

I hate it when a merchant thinks they are doing the customer a favor by placing an order. I've always believed the customer does the favor by patronizing that store.

BTW, since we are discussing 8-shot N-frame guns, does anyone know if S&W has discontinued the 5" bbl PC 627 SKU 170210? It doesn't seem to be on their website any more.
