I have noticed a space or gap between my frame and barrel on the extractor housing. The barrel is fully mated to the frame but the small gap is on the extractor housing. Does it matter?? Its a model 29-10 and its brand new, never fired yet. I'm new to smiths.

There is a vertical gap between the extractor housing and the frame. The barrel seems to fully engage the frame the way it should.

Could you post a photo? I'm not clear on which parts you're asking about.

Pics would be helpful. Assuming that you mean where the ejector rod shroud meets the frame, I've seen this before. Mainly just a cosmetic issue and should pose no problems with the gun.

Yup its the frame and extractor housing gap. Ok i'll shoot it soon. I got this brand new unshot in the plastic case with the presentation case for $699. I stole it at that price. The PO traded it in for $$.
