So I wanted to change the hand guard on my 15-22, I looked at lots of videos on this.
I couldn’t access the tacticool 22 barrel nut removal tool as I’m based in the U.K. so I purchased a dedicated tool from a company here in the U.K. I found the issue with this is that it’s longer than the barrel, so I can’t put the barrel in a vice to grip it. (I attached a picture to illustrate). I’m aware of the dangers in putting too much torque on the receiver as it’s plastic.
I have tried using as much force as I’m happy with but it’s not coming off.
So I wondered if anyone had an unwanted barrel nut removal tool that I could buy or borrow?
Or if anyone knows of a way to resolve the issue?
