Progressive Press Choices ?

Had a number of Dillon progressives over the years. Currently
have a 650 which is dedicated to loading cowboy action 38 specials.
Also have 550 for other stuff as well as a Bonanza Co-Ax (awesome for
rifle) and a Rockchucker. I love Dillon. Met Mike years ago when he
was just starting and was demonstration his machine by himself.
Never heard any negative about Dillon. 45 years of competition
and still shooting.

Dillon Precision

I can speak for Dillion. Excellent customer service. Excellent machines. the 650/750 will do just about anything you will need.

I have three Lee 1000 progressive presses and two Lee 4 hole Turrets. The Lee 1000 presses are set up in 45 ACP, 45 Colt, and 357 Magnum calibers.

Maybe 5 years ago I bought a 4 hole Lee Turret press. I liked it so much that I bought another. Knowing what I now know, I would recommend that you buy a Lee 4 hole turret press. They are really reliable and the ammo is accurate as can be. Great product.

The 550B lost its place on my bench after mangling too many costly 25-20 cases in spite of many conversations with tech support. The LNL AP has not had any problems with any of my 'uncommon' cartridges.

I chose, more years ago than I can remember, a Hornady L-N-L. I chose it over the Dillon 550 that "everyone" raves about because it was auto-indexing. Good press but, for me, slow to set up. Yes, one must keep after it to prevent hang-ups. It's good for high-volume loading. I used it to load only handgun ammunition. I also have a Rockchucker single-stage that's around 40 years old. Still works great! I use that for rifle. I use the progressive less and less because I can load enough handgun ammo for one range session with reasonable speed. Advantage: you have full control of each cartridge.

Thanks for all the info fellas :)

I think I'm going to keep the old RCBS 4x4 and try tuning it up a bit. And then just set it up for 45 acp or 38 and leave it dedicated to that one cartridge.

I'm still kicking around what new progressive to go with ? And I'm not in a big hurry.
