I saw this one on Gunbroker and for some reason it just called out to me. Serial number of 179241 puts it around 1913-14 according to the catalog. Character in spades, finish wear and patina look good, barrel fair to good and it only has a little pitting here and there. It came with a old Hunter holster that is also in fairly good shape.

I think I am going to try and do some work on it with Kuhnhausen's help. It is tough to open unless you pull the cylinder to the rear when unlatching. The extractor rod is slightly bent. No idea if a replacement for an old HE like this is available or not so we will see what can be done. I am thinking that endshake bearings will help with the unlatching. Can anyone tell me if J frame bearings will work on a .32 HE?

I bought it with the intention of refinishing it myself but if I can get it back to solid I may just leave it as is finish wise. Part of the "character" on it is some notches that were filed into the grip frame and also on both sides above the trigger.

Oh, I paid $210 for it, Probably a bit much considering the problems but I really like project guns and with the combo of revolver and holster I could not resist.

A bent or loose ejector rod may be the cause of the difficult opening. A rod that length is not too difficult to straighten...

Looks to me to be the start of a cool project. A little TLC and you hit gold! I vote for the patina.
