Just got my 2 10 rounders in tonight. I cut the first one down to just over 1.5 inches and was able to get in 31 rounds.
EDIT
**I can confirm the magic number is 1.25" from the bottom of the follower. This will give you a 32 round magazine.**
I didn't have a scroll saw so I made a mark at 1.25" and took some wire snips and slowly cut in from the edges. Then I sanded it down to make it smooth and then reassembled. Pretty easy to do.
If you have any questions let me know.
How many rounds can you fit in there with the cut at .5"?
Like I mentioned above I made my cut at 1.25" and was able to perfectly fit the 32 rounds in. Anything lower the load assist button could fall out.
Went to the range today. My converted Promag worked perfectly.
Tested 4 modified mags myself yesterday and they ran great!
Full mag dumps, locked back with authority, very pleased with the mags so far.
For those that like video: Easy, quick.
I had some 10 rounders show up today. I cut and and shaped the spring blades on the followers to 1 3/4". This allows 30 rounds to be loaded, doesn't fully compress the spring and the mag locks in on a closed bolt fine. I'm satisfied with that.
Mine came in today I cheated a little and used a Drexel tool took about 5 min to do all 3 I cut them at 1 3/8" and rounded the edges loads 32 rounds perfectly will try out at the range this weekend
I just used side cutters to cut them straight across the used the sanding drum to round them off they are perfect like the stock end but they workGot my 4, 10 rounders in today. What type of bit did you use?
I didn't bother to round mine off, and it still works.I just used side cutters to cut them straight across the used the sanding drum to round them off they are perfect like the stock end but they work
