ProMags for my 3914?

These S&W single stack are compatible: 908, 3913, 3913TSW, 3914, 3953, 3953TSW, 3954.
Do you know why the 3904/06 mags are not? I see them available but several have noted they are not compatible with the 3913/14.

3904/6 magazines work fine in the 3913/4 - they just stick out of the grip a bit since the tubes are longer.

A forum member got very creative about this issue -

I recently scored a LNIB Model 3904 ... it's a great pistol but sourcing extra magazines is a difficult (& costly) endeavor...

Unfortunately, no reputable aftermarket manufacturer is currently making the nine-round mags required for the Model 3904,
& the original OEM factory magazines have long been discontinued by S&W. If you think 3913/14 magas are hard to come by,
try finding 3904 mags for less than a king's ransom.

Now, MecGar makes some quality aftermarket magazines, but their S&W compatable selection is limited to the 5900 series pistols.

I have had bad experiences with Promags in hand guns, but have not had problems in rifles. Go figure, Some people say they are find, others like me do not trust them in self defense situations. For handguns, often due to bad range experiences I save my money for OE mags, sometimes a lot of the fun is in the hunt and the people you meet on the way. Do you feel lucky enough to use promags?

Bought the extended Pro-Mag for my Sig P220. Wouldn't feed properly. Bought extended for my Hi-Point 45 carbine, (don't laugh, it is flawless with factory mags). One mag wouldn't feed, the other one won't hold the bullets. You load about 5 bullets and they jump right back out. I have been meaning to send back to Pro-mag to cash in on that "lifetime warranty". But as Tommy Boy said, you put a lifetime warranty on a box of crap, you still have a box of crap.

I do have some that work. They are clearly thinner metal than factory mags and are not as reliable in my experience in various firearms. Although, I have some that have worked properly. I still reserve them for range use only.

Probably half-a-dozen times through the years I have needed a replacement magazine for some obscure old gun or another. In every case, ProMag had one to offer. And, In every case, it did not work.

They may, occasionally, make a magazine that works... but my experience says that the odds are they don't.

3904/3906 is a "Full Size" single stack pistol with longer grip and longer magazines than "Compact Frame" 3913/3914/3953/3954 pistols. 3906 mag will go into a 3914 and lock, but will stick out significantly.
