I recently picked up a 4" Model 57 and was wondering what would be the proper Presentation Case for it. It's S/N is N145XXX? Thanks.

You will need to determine ship date. SCS&W 4th edition page 55 describes them. The 1969-1974 or 1974-1978 case should be the one.

The serial on your gun dates shipping to the 1973-1974 time frame. Look on GB for auctions with serials close to yours and see what boxes they have with them. I think it would be the boxes with the barrel pointing to the left for that time frame.
Below is a photo of the correct presentation case for your Model 57 that dates to 1974. The case in the photo has inserts covered with the original lining, but it has never had a revolver placed in it and if it did the lining would fall apart rapidly. So, the case you find for your Model 57 will have to have the inserts recovered. I would suggest you contact Joe Cebull (jcelect on this Forum) to have the work done.
