Proposed bulk ammo ban

Vegas is giving 30 to 1 against it passing. Besides, it's an election year and nobody wants to PO voters. Joe

30 to 1? I’d take those odds. There’s no chance it’ll pass. I’m sure that she’s proposed something just as ridiculous every year she’s been in office.

When I read this thread, the first thing I did was check to see if Warren is up for re-election in 2024...sure enough, she is.

All legislative branch politicians play the same game when it's time to run for re-election: They propose legislation that their base will love, even though they know it will never pass. They then campaign on how they're "fighting for" this-or-that cause, and ask for their constituents' support and money.

Both parties do this, on every single hot-button issue you can name. And people fall for it: the anti-2A people will love her for it, and folks like us will get our blood pressure jacked over it.

There's an easy way to tell if a bill is serious or frivolous: Look up its history. Senators or Congressmen who are truly looking to get something passed line up co-sponsors and leadership support before they introduce a piece of legislation; those who are looking to create a campaign talking point just introduce it.

S3223 was introduced by Warren on November 2, and has one co-sponsor. It's been read twice and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee. No further action has been scheduled at this time.

Could this bill eventually become law? Yes. But I think I have a better chance of spending tomorrow night on the International Space Station than of seeing that happen...

I do not believe it will pass. If it should, I will simply drive to the ammo plant by my brother's and make a purchase of 500, put them in my rig, go back inside and make another purchase.

But, except for 300 blackout, I have about all the ammo, brass, bullets, powder and primers I shall ever need. I may buy a couple thousand dollars worth of primers after my job in Feb and March is over.

When one has no grip on reality and exists on the fictions in one's mind this is the kind of legislation that gets introduced.

It's unsurprising, to say the least, and it will fail, probably in the Senate, and never make it to the House. Time will tell.

Next incident of any kind they can say they have repeatedly proposed "reasonable" controls. A lot of it has nothing to do with anything except laying the ground work for sound bites, headlines. Reality TV methods have completely taken over politics

They tried limiting the sales of cold medicine to stop the flow of meth, big help that been. Mostly just funneled the money to the more organized criminals and gangs and suppliers from outside our borders

Interesting that when ever and were ever a conflict breaks out all the participants manage to sprout automatic weapons and lots of ammo.

Think about it. With everything on the internet available to the Feds, Including the posts on this forum and all online sales, wouldn’t the anti 2A crowd want all ammo and firearm sales to be online?

You are thinking logically. THEY don't operate on logic. They operate on emotion. That said, they are playing the long game. They work incrementally. They see every movement in their direction as a win. They have infinite patience. They actually have a goal, total elimination of private gun ownership, and work toward it every day.

WE ARE FREE to chose not to buy into a game where WE are clearly being whipsawed, If we simply refuse to play their game, and chose another, their GAME would be over and done with. Instead we allow them them to divide and conquer, and we willingly accept the lesser of 2 evils in hopes that it will somehow turn out good and it never does.

There does not have to be a conspiracy when the real power all wants the same thing.
Everyone is crying about the price of gas, except those poor politically "suppressed" oil companies that have been posting record profits for the last 3 years. Same goes for the major grocery distributing companies. Just go look at their quarterly profit reports.

Here's where we lost it. The second corporate money came into play, 300+ million were disenfranchised.

In NYS, ammo cannot be ordered online and shipped to your door, only to an FFL.

And the state police are doing background checks on every ammo purchase, including registering the brand, calibre and number of rounds purchased. Yes, account for every round. $2.50 per background check, every time you buy ammo.

The courts just kick it around until you give up, knowing the chance it gets to SCOTUS is slim to none.

I deleted several posts.

This is from the Sticky http://smith-wessonforum.com/2nd-amendment-forum/284827-read-rules-how-use-2a-forum.html:

This is NOT:
This is not where you post general political discussion and comments on OTHER issues not related to the 2A. Other issues are the economy, Obamacare, general Lib bashing, tinfoil and black choppers, how to start a revolution, etc, etc.
Keep it focused on the 2A issues.

We also expect you to keep the discussion civil.

1. We ask that you conduct yourselves as ladies and gentlemen. Civil Discourse and Courteous Behavior shall be the norm.

2. Remember- opinions will differ. Get over it. State your opinion calmly, and allow others to state theirs. Discussion will be fine, but there is no need to take a thread into a verbal fistfight or shouting match.

3. Do NOT descend into personal attacks on a member.
Naiveté, or viewpoints different from yours are no reason to call a member an idiot or moron.

I would not be certain of anything with our current governments. New York already has a requirement of background checks for ammo purchases since 9/13/23. It is done by the NYS Police and done for every single purchase you wish to make. As of YET quantity is not a factor. The cost of the check ranges between $8 and $16 based on my experience.
