PT Charging Handle

I was Academy today and they had the PT Charging Handle on clearance for $26. I thought that was high even for the regular price. After doing some searching I see they go for more like 40-45. Anyone have any experience with these? Anyone had any failures with original plastic one from S&W? I might pick one up if it's a high failure item on the 15-22.

I like the plinker tactical handle. Some on here will insist on the tacticool22 or another, but the PT handle works perfectly.

I don't think it's so much a failure item replacement as it is a nice upgrade.

I shoot lefty, so the ambi nature of the PT handle suites me better. Other guys like it because it gives them more surface to yank on while doing speed drills.

As for why it's so "expensive", it is machined one at a time on a CNC mill. Much more time outlay then casting the plastic one that Smith sends with the gun. I'm sure Tac22 could break it down better for you, but that's the nature of the small run manufacturing world. Time costs.

Thanks for the feedback, think I'll spend the $26 on another brick of 22lr.
