Complete stupidity. A few months back there was a video link on this forum showing the California highway patrol shooting team shooting cigarettes out the mouth of other officers. Now the video was from the 1930's, you would think people would get smarter but unfortunately not so.

In the US, if you missed and killed the "hostage", you'd be hard pressed to just call it an "accident", given the obvious reckless or negligent intent that would be present in the exercise.

Which means you'd probably be facing an involuntary manslaughter charge, and with the level of "stupid" presented, and a death involved, it's not likely that a prosecutor would plea the case out to a lesser offense.

STUPID!

That is just plain stupidity. You can't describe it any other way or even ATTEMPT to justify it. One slip and you have one bullet that kills one man and ruins the other man's life forever.
