I am jonesing something fierce for a 2.5" 357, K frame. Did the mod 66's ever come pinned and recessed?????? I keep missing deals on P&R 19's so maybe I'm destined for a 66 instead..... Either in shooter grade would make me feel warm and fuzzy.....

I'm in NC and in the market.......

They sure did. I've got one that's a M66-1 that is my most carried K-Frame. Shoots really good.

Not so easy to find anymore as EVERYONE seems to know this, and hunt the same holy grain. Be patient, you will find your nemesis: Kyle

I believe I have one I may get rid of I know what my 3 and 4 in are but not the snubbie I know it does have the blue two piece box

All the no dash and dash 1 66s were pinned and recessed. You may find a "transitional 66 lacking one or the other of these features but they would be very rare.

P&R 66 k-frames have become one of the most sought after modern S&W revolvers. They are out there to be had but they are becoming scarcer and more popular every day....

Here is a picture of some pinned and recessed no dash and dash 1 66 models....

So they do exist.... Cool, BUT, If their really collectable I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of owning one for their collection so maybe since I'm after a shooter/woods carry gun I should stick to a 19 and just find a P&R that way....

Pretty much any P&R is a collectible.
They haven't been made since the very early 1980s

To the more knowledgeable - 2.5"? I've heard of 2" & 3", was there ever a 66 2.5"?

Yes. There were no production K-frame .357 Magnums made with 2" barrels. They came with 2.5", 3", 4", or 6" barrels.

K-frame .38 Specials (and other calibers) were made with 2" barrels but not the .357 Magnums.
