Hi Everybody:
Here's a Model 19-3 I'm looking at. I know, I know, not a great picture, I'll ask for better if I decide to pursue it further. My question has to do with the stocks: If these are the original Target Stocks that come with the revolver, would they have the serial number of the gun stamped on one of the halves like service stocks do?
Thanks for your help guys (and gals). Also, do the Mod 19's come with a tapered barrel like a Mod 15, or are they all heavy barrels?
Rob

Target stocks were almost never numbered, those look correct. The barrels had a wide rib (heavy).
Thank you s&wchad, this is good to know. I was just looking at the "Ultimate Model 19/66" thread and all the barrels looked heavy to me. Thanks for your help guy, I appreciate it.:) I guess I'll be asking for more pictures.

Regards, Rob

I have a 19-3 and my stocks look just like the ones you're looking at. They have no SN.....on mine...and since I bought it brand new I know that my stocks did not come with a SN......hope that helps

It looks to me like a very nice 19-3. Look forward to seeing some more pictures of it.

Yes it does help, thanks jtpur. It seems odd that they'll (S&W) number one style of stock, but not another, oh well I can live with it.:)

Picture is a little on the dark side, I can't really make out much detail to base an evaluation on, so Ive asked for more (and better) photo's. Should have them tomorrow and I hope it's in really fine condition so I can buy it.:D
