i want to install a magpul A.S.A.P. single point sling adapter on my sport and was wondering if the castlenut wrenches that tapco makes will get the job done. i've heard on-line that people are scratching their sport up with these wrenches.....the wrench on amazon is less than 10 bux

I have a regular old cheapo one off ebay that I paid 7 bucks for and it works fine. Generally the possibility of scratching is on you and how steady you are. They can be a little tuff to get off the first time but you also have to be careful too!

When you do repairs yourself, don't rush into it. Think it through. Ask yourself..Do I have the right parts?,..Do I have the right tools?,and what can I do to prevent damage to lets say finish, optics, lights or whatever. Just take the extra time.

I bought the big ol heavy armorers wrench and it has worked everytime so far (knock on my wooden head)

Out of the two pictured, get one that looks like the top one. The three prongs provide a better purchase & distribution of force on the castle nut.

The one on the bottom will get the job done, but it has a tendenc to slip off the castle nut if you're not careful.
