Question for S&W 327 PC Owners

It seems there is more to trigger pull than just the weight.

I measured my J-Frames, both were 9 lb 10 oz. I was shocked to see my TRR8 (a Performance Center 327) was 9 lb 15 oz. I would have sworn the TRR8 was at least 2 lb lighter than the J-Frames.

I feel pretty fortunate that my Performance Center 327 2" has an average double action trigger weight on my Lyman Digital scale of 8.133 and single action of 3.166. I have less than 100 rounds through it but have dry fired the snot out of it. I am still considering letting my gunsmith do his trigger action job on my 327 to get the trigger as smooth as possible and maybe getting the double action trigger weight in the 7 pound range. That would be without changing any of the stock springs.

My TRR8 has the best trigger I own. My 327PC feels very different. I've never measured either so perhaps it's a perceived difference. I would really like to smooth out the 327 and get rid of that gaff hook sized hammer spur so I ordered a replacement kit from Apex. DAO and comes with two different rebound springs. Can anyone recommend a good revolver smith somewhere near Central Florida? If you disagree with this approach I value your opinion as well so don't hold back.

So I liked your Hogue bantam grips so much I just ordered a set in Cocobolo checkered. Unfortunately they are not in stock so it will take about 30 days to get them. Will post a picture when I get them.

Well I hope you like them but I'm pretty sure you will! After checking out all the other options I always come back to Hogue. I have various styles in J, K, L and N frames and have not been disappointed yet. I don't have any in Cocobolo so I'm excited to see yours when you share.

I will be sure to post a picture when I receive them. Probably looking at 30 days since they were not in stock. I did ask Hogue to make them of the darkest shade possible of the Cocobolo wood and they said okay. Can't wait to get them.

So with more rounds down range and continuous daily dry firing, the trigger action on my 327 has broken in nicely. The 5 pull double action average weight on my Lyman Digital scale is 7.126 and the single action is 2.391. This is by far the best trigger action on any revolver that I have ever owned. To say that I am delighted with my 327 would be a definite understatement. If it hadn't been for my Stimulus money I may never have had the opportunity to experience this amazing Smith and Wesson revolver. There is absolutely no need to have my gunsmith do any further work on my 327. That just saved me 100 bucks that I can use for ammunition.
