Question for S&W 327 PC Owners

Mine definitely does not do that. Does it still rattle when the grips are off? You might want to give Smith and Wesson Customer Service a call and ask them what the rattle might be.

Yes the first thing I did was remove the grips. Nothing in there. It makes this sound with the hammer in any position and while holding the cylinder still. Sounds like it's coming from behind the side plate where the majority of the mechanics are located. The trigger also feels much rougher then I would expect as compared to my TRR8. The TRR8 has had 1 visit to the factory right after purchase. Maybe this will have to take the trip as well.

Not trying to hijack but this thread has the perfect audience. I just picked up a new 327 yesterday and it has a very loud rattle to it when shaken. My TRR8 does not have this. I removed the grips but nothing making noise in there. Has any other 327 owners experienced this?
Could be the 'hammer block'. Some are louder than others. Or I should say, some make more noise than others.
It 'sounds' fine to me.

If you can find a pair, Ahrends N frame boot grips are fantastic on a 327. I also have them on my Lew Horton 629-5 snub and my 627PC snub. They just fit beautifully and fill the hand just right.

It was the hammer block! When I apply light pressure to it with a screwdriver there is no rattle. Surprised how loud this one is considering my TRR8 makes no sound whatsoever. I guess just another example how each revolver can be unique. Thank you for the help.

Glad you found the rattle. Things like that annoy the hell out of me.

They took less than a week to be delivered. On Hogue's site they list each grips as either 'In-stock' or they provide a number of days it will take for them to make them. These were 'In-Stock'.

Thanks. Looked at the Hogue site. They make very nice grips for Smith and Wesson revolvers.

I just got these nice Hogue bantam kingwood grips today. I like them a lot.

So I liked your Hogue bantam grips so much I just ordered a set in Cocobolo checkered. Unfortunately they are not in stock so it will take about 30 days to get them. Will post a picture when I get them.
