I have a question regarding Louisiana Conceal Carry. Texas has a reciprocal agreement with Louisiana, so if someone from
Texas with a CHL stays at a motel in Louisiana are there any
no gun signs that are mandatory similar to the Texas 30.06
sign? Are the laws uniform across the state or do certain cities
regulate carry in places like a motel. I am aware that gambling
casinos are off limits to CHL holders, and that Louisiana has
open carry while Texas does not. So if there is a gun buster
sign do you need to find another motel or does the CHL from
Texas cover that?

I recently traveled there. I googled "prohibited carry in La." About the only place prohibited there are courts, political events and police stations. From what I could see even bars were ok as long as your BAC were below the acceptable levels. Just google "Concealed Carry in La"

Hope this helps

Courts, detention facilities, police stations, the state capitol, meetings of government bodies, parades, and Class A retail establishments that sell alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the premises.

The last part pertains to restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages, but I have no idea what the conditions are.

On my trips there, mostly driving through, I've never seen a building posted as they are in TX and TN.

I'll know better in about a week when I'll be in NOLA for a few days.

Thanks for the answers. I suppose I can assume that there will be none of them no gun signs on any motel that I might stop at
traveling there, and if I see any that those would only apply to
none licensed folks.

In Louisiana, any sign that states "No Guns" (hand written or printed) can be enforced if the store owner or officer wants to push it. Most of the time they will just ask you to leave and not come back. and if you do come back, they can get you for trespassing. There are no signs approved by the state. As for motels, when you rent it for the night it is considered your domicile as long as the gun stays in the room with you. I haven't seen any signs at any of the local hotels or motels. At this time, it is best if you avoid carrying into restaurants that serve alcohol due to conflicting rules. August 15, 2014 the new streamlined rule will become effective, allowing you to carry in restaurants that do serve alcohol as long as you don't sit in the bar area. Louisiana has a limit of 0.05% when carrying. Concerning the casino's, some instructors say that you can carry into the pavilion and restaurants (where kids can be) without getting into trouble and some say don't try it just to avoid any problems.

I have never seen a no guns sign at any hotel I have stayed at in Louisiana, and I have stayed in a bunch of them.

I spent two days in New Orleans and last night in Sulphur. I saw no signs anywhere banning guns. I always look when I'm traveling as I don't want to run afoul of local laws.

Half the people staying in motels across America have some form of handgun!!

I have been doing it since 1961 and just don't worry about it.

I don't let anyone know I have a firearm!!!:)
