Found a FDE M&P 40 online and want to make sure it it is factory not cerakote. The seller sent a picture of the box label which I have attached but I can't figure out what "102015" means. I called S&W customer service and they said it is not a SKU. Any thoughts/ideas?

The pic isn’t much help. I was not aware they made a 4.25” FDE M&P 40, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Mine is 5” and has the TLCI and thumb safety. Great gun for the money. Surprisingly accurate. :) I’d say you need a SKU to be sure.

SKU #

The seller provided an SKU of "10025" but I have had no luck with that number either.

Picture of pistol

Here is a picture of the pistol. I don't believe its a VTAC.

Definitely not a VTAC. I don’t know what it is. I guess proceed at your own risk if you can’t get a proper SKU from the seller. (How hard is that? ) Good luck!

Answer

Per S&W customer service the SKU was for an M&P 40 FDE kit from some years ago.

Thanks for the help.

I believe 102015 is the manufacturing date for the pistol.

The SKU number is farther to the left on my 2018 Shield.
