Personal choice would be a G-23 as it is a bit smaller, and you can use G22 mags in it. But if you already own a G22 I certainly would not go buy
a G23, really not cost effective.
What ever you carry, practice with it and when you are comfortable, practice some more. I used to wonder why a transition course too so many rounds until I had changed weapons several times in the course of my INS/DHS tenure. Usual transition at the academy was about 2500 rounds over fifteen weeks. Transition at the duty station was 1500 when we went to the Beretta 96 from issued wheel guns was about 1500, and when the USP Compact/2000 came along it was between 1500 and 2000 round depending on how close we were to Oct 1 (new physical year).

Well, for some of us it goes without even saying, but since you're a noob and we don't know the extent of your experience, one of the things you should know about carrying the Glock is it needs to be in a holster . No pocket or 'Mexican' carry recommended for these.
NRA - not perfect but nothing is. But there is strength in numbers and it's better to be feared than loved in some cases.

i would carry my model 58 if it wasnt so hard to conceal, instead i carry the model 60

in the summer with t-shirt and shorts its the bTj derringer .38 cal. just slip it in the back pocket with the hankerchief.
Glock 22 is OK but I preferred the Glock 23 (compact version). Do need a holster as has been noted previously. I now carry the Glock 32, 357 Sig compact version and have a 40 caliber barrel if I need to change.
NTA is best organization we have for 2nd A rights. Again as has been noted earlier, it ain't perfect but it is on our side.

Not a Glock person, I use S&W's. But regarding the NRA, it is the best thing going now to protect the 2nd Amendment.
