Questions on a Pre-model 12 - Aircrewman??

I wondered what HIS looked like....

Yes, that one is mine. The pic was found THR thread that I linked in the original post.

Good for you- you found a great piece there.

Update on Aircrewman

While preparing the S&W Letter of Authenticity Request Form, I took a closer look, under better light at the back side of the extractor star. The serial number is stamped there! On the opposite side of the star, still on the back side is the number 97. The number 97 is also stamped on the cylinder under the extractor star. Is that good news or what?

Edit: upon further inspection the number is 397, not 97

What have Aircrewman sold for lately?

What had a good original (not parts built) Aircrewman sold for lately?

Wow...nice find.
I would do the same thing, Sell it to a collector that doesnt want to shoot it anyway and get another one.

I love my Model 12

If you could benefit from an income tax deduction , you could make the little weapon a framed tribute to the Aircrews who carried it in defense of our nation and donate it to the VFW , Military offices , an indoor veterans memorial of local government or other veterans organization . You could get written verification of the value of your donation from one of the experts here . I think it could be quite a bit over the price it carried as a shooter if done up with a professional quality historical display .

The going price for a nice Aircrewman I think is about $1800-$2500.
Your gun with the crack would be $450-$600.
A true donation would not be subtracted from a tax return.
The United States needs all the money it can get.
Where is your patriotism?
Do you want to wind up like Greece?
