Quick question: Timney or Geissele

I use the Giessele SSA in my primary AR (Noveske) and will be putting one in the 15-22 at some point. The Giessele is the best 2 stage (for my purposes) that I have tried.

I have the Giessele Super Dynamic Enhanced ($235) on my Daniel Defense and not only I love the 2 stage light trigger, but also the cool looking straight design of the trigger.
It feels better to me, as it increases the hand to trigger distance slightly for my big hands.

Where?

Where did you get the timney for $180 if I may ask? Have the same issue and would like to buy one! Thanks in advance

Also I noticed some are small pin for .154 recievers only, I am assuming I shouldn't buy that one.....correct?

I just went to the range again tonight and sent another 400 rounds down range. I seriously need an autoloader of some sort. I also purchased a MOE V Grip and it worked quite well. Full auto or bursts anytime I wanted. I still had a decent amount of FTF; about 1 per magazine. I did have two full drums (50 rnds) go without hitch - thats what drew the audience at the range.

In regards to the trigger, you want model #667S . This is the .154 pins. The larger pins are for the older Colts. I purchased mine at Midwest Gun Works:

Timney AR-15 Small Pin 3 Pound Solid Trigger: MGW

Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 TIM667S Timney AR-15 Small Pin 3 Pound Solid Trigger $184.23

It looks like they just sold out. I see you can get them here as well:

Timney Triggers AR-15 Competition

Not sure if it is instock there or not.

Make sure you buy this as well; KNS non-rotate trigger pins:

M&P15-22 Non-Rotate Trigger/Hammer Pins (GEN 2 MOD 2) Black

Buy it from there as the pins are different sizes than normal AR15 lowers; the one I linked is made for the S&W M&P15-22.

If you don't buy the KNS pins, you will have to screw the set screws of the Timney into the poly frame - which isn't good as it doesn't hold all that well... then your trigger pins fall out.

Nice! I think I'm going to buy the one below that one. SDC?

Can't help with the small pin part but it appears he is looking at E. Arthur Brown Company. They have them for $184.

$12 Fu#k%^& shipping and $33 for 2 stupid pins? So in order for my slide fire to work your telling me 200 on a new trigger which I can barely swallow, then another $50 on 2 pins! There has to be a better way!

You don't have to do this. People have been successful just screwing the set screws into the frame to hold tension on the trigger pins. The problem is that the frame is polymer and the set screws will bend the trigger guard if you set them too deep. It is a balance - resistance against the trigger pins vs. tension against the polymer frame.

The pins are worth it. Take the advice and use them.

Be warned - make sure they are the model # I gave you above. The M&P 15-22 is a different overall width than a normal AR lower. Therefore, the pins are a different size and made special for this gun.

Also - I ordered the SBS SSAR15 stock from bumpfires.com; it was $360.00 shipped. I know there are a few other vendors who sell them near dealer cost ($320.00). Save money in the right places and get the correct pieces.

KNS Precision Gen2 Mod2 Trigger Group Pins- For Smith and Wesson M&P15-22
These ya?

And as far as the slide fire, ya its the newer version, the SBS, which costs 370 on their site and another 11 for shipping, and looks alot better in my opinion. But I actually found it locally for $360, but had to pay tax, but I got to pay in all cash, just in case some day they are not so much on the up and up ya know? Figured $20 was worth keeping it off my CC and my name off any lists.

OOS EVERYWHERE! Got an email just sayin SWAF Outdoors is oos too. Anybody got a line on in stock timneys?

Lol, well ya, I'm not gunna be anne frank about it. I can erase all this if it ever goes south, and if they still find me after erasing anonymous info on a random chatboard, then so be it, they obviously care more than i do.

Timney Trigger w/Slidefire Stock

I ordered the Slidefire Stock kit and it comes with the Timney Trigger so I think that the Timney Trigger would be the recommended trigger for the S&W 15/22 and Slidefire Stock so I would go with the Timney Trigger for the S&W M&P 15/22
