I bought this '58 Chevy back in 1977 for $100.
It had a wood bed.
Whoever the previous owner was must have has a shell of something over the bed because the wood was in excellent condition and still retained at least 80% of the original paint.
Too bad the rest of the truck wasn't in as good of shape.
It had the 235 inline 6 and no oil filter. It was optional for this engine and I guess it was a bare bones truck.
I also had a '58 Chevy pickup. It came to me with a straight six and manual transmission, complete with a camper shell. I soon transplanted a 283 V8 into it so it would "go better." Not long after that i traded it for a '65 Sting Ray....

I always thought those were pretty cool.
Weren't they used for the first commercial airliners??
I can only imagine the droan from three engines not being synced.
While there I saw the coroner’s vehicle loading a body that was recently recovered from the bay. It is estimated that about four people per month, that they know of, jump from that bridge. Preventative methods seem not to work. Sad.
Next time I’m lucky enough to be out at Valle, AZ I’ll look for a triple.
The Connie is gone from Valle, but there’s still a bunch of old planes there.
