Scorpion under UV light

For some reason all scorpions fluoresce under UV light...I understand even some fossil scorpions do this. I took this shot down in Costa Rica.

Here in the Park during the summer out Park Manager takes small groups of people camping here on scorpion excursions.

First he teaches them all about them and how the female eats the male after mating.

There's a small side hill along a dirt road where he takes them and hands out black lights so they can find them. The side hill faces the sun all day so its stays pretty warm n the evenings.

Took some of my grandkids out there one night and we spotted 52 of them.

Pretty cool and thanks for sharing DR505.

The Badlands

We have rattlesnakes here in the canyon.

The ones that show up here in the campground are really strange and different from most.

I can't explain how or why but their heads seem to have a tendency to fall off.

This was about 1/2 hour after I cut this rattle off one.

This one was heading straight for my three year old son who was kicking a soccer ball. My no-dash 67 saved the day! Tail still rattling here too.

Snow piles are all pretty much gone and the spring flowers are blooming. Late this winter I seeded these Federal HST variety .40 flowers directly into the snow using a PC Shield dispenser.

The 93 was my first TC. I had it for about 5 years. When I retired I gave it to a waitress that needed a car.
The truck was another great one. Owned it from 2000 to 2017. It had 198k on it when I sold it. It's still going strong as the guys everyday vehicle. Can't see it but it has a ARE tonneau on the bed.
I only sold it because it was standard shift and it was too hard for me to drive anymore.
Right after I bought the gold 93 TC, I got a deal on a blue 94. Typical deceased parent deal and the son didn't want it. I had it for about 6 weeks and was offered twice what I paid. Bye bye, car!
