"Rising Sun" Japanese-Korean maple hybrid leaves in my gf's garden in Bellingham WA. They are late to drop their leaves and are just falling now.

Arranged and scanned (what she calls "scanography")

I'll pass that on :) Due to a recurring annoyance called "work", she can't spend as much time scanning or working in the garden as she would like. I regularly get the complaint, "I WANT TO DO A SCAN!", which takes meny hours due not just to arranging but also cleaning the background and fixing flaws. But she gets lumbered with bureaucratic claptrap which she largely hates anyway, never mind interfering with the creative process. I remind her that it is "suffering for her art" :( The university pays her bills; the cats and garden retain her sanity :D

Look what I just niticed.................... a little early, aren't we ??

Well, "Christmas" has already started in the stores, so it's probably just getting its seasonal mojo on.

I see 1/2 of mine has begun to wake up. There are two in the planter. I think they originated with my maternal grandmother, so probably date from the 1930s.

My gf just splurged on a pricey new Gaggia espresso machine, a substantial 20 lb. beast which came in three equally substantial cardboard boxes, like a Russian matryoshka doll. She also has two substantial cats - no strangers to these digital pages - and "Charlie-of-the-epic-whiskers" has now claimed one as an item of interest:

Unfortunately, the magnificent new toy is driving her nuts and producing disappointing lattes, especially frustrating since it replaces her el-cheapo DeLonghi which recently died, so she's having to learn how to adapt to its quirks. But at least the cat is happy :D

@oldbrownhat I hope S learns the quirks of her new machine quickly, and is soon producing great lattes and cappuccinos (my favorite). At least Charlie-of the Epic whiskers- is a happy boy in his new playhouse[emoji16][emoji16][emoji250][emoji16][emoji16]
