Aside from a "pony" being Brit. slang for £25, I seem to recall (I think from one of Spike Milligan's war memoirs) there was also to "do a pony", which I won't explain other than to say it being relevant to the contraption above

It was a short but severe storm. Neighboring Fairfield FD came to put out the fire because all the Hamilton FD units were out on calls.
