Range Bag Contents?

Too much stuff to remember. I know I've got one of those 'cleans anything' cleaning rod kits, oil and a can of Hoppe's Elite. I have something like six screwdrivers, from a 12 inch one to a SAK. Got a copper-headed hammer too Can't remember much else, but it's heavy.

I use a pistol/rifle bag and a separate shotgun bag. In the pistol bag I carry eye and ear protection, an old gym sock to wipe down the gun after shooting, a leatherman multi tool, small bottle of oil, stapler and tape. There is still room for pistols and ammo after all that. The shotgun bag has a lot of the same stuff but add to it a tube of grease, different chokes, a can of ballistol, a bore snake and furry snap caps.

Wow! Lots of help

I want to thank everyone who has commented. I sorted through all the suggestions and made a tentative list. Today after sorting sheep I will have some time to dump everything out of my current bag , clean it up a bit and then re-pack with the new list in hand.

Depends on indoor outdoor?

All the time:

I try to take a screwdriver
small rag

A collapsible picker upper thingy mainly for brass past the firing line....or any brass that presents itself.

I take extra ear plugs

Outside I take a hammer, Tape, Chronograph. And a broom, but not in my bag.

I have several range bags (8), The are usually caliber specific, 22 RF, 38 Special , etc. There are multi calibers bags also, 223 &308 or 45 ACP & 45Colt and the Cab & Ball bag.

I have a great deal of repetition, buying stuff I forgot provided a surplus, so each bag has everything for that caliber.

I have 2 different tool kits for the range, a 6 pound small kit for simple outings and a 50 pounder that can rebuild almost any failure I have ever encountered.

Mine is obviously stocked for S&W rimfire revolvers - a 10" scrap of 1"x2" wood for tapping the ejector rod when my K22 or pre-34 is unknowingly used with ammo it can't eject without serious assistance.

Mine has ammo, thumbtacks, UpLula, loaded magazines - empty on the way home, a multi tool, extra ear plugs. If I need anything other than the multitool to work on a gun (it has happened a few times) it just doesn't get shot any more that trip. There are others to choose from.

First aid kit resides in the vehicle which is only a few steps away while shooting at the club. I also keep a towel, wipes, bug spray, sunscreen, and an "emergency stash" of ammo in the vehicle in case I've forgotten to bring a caliber or have run out and still want to shoot a bit more.

The bag itself is a cheapie made by LA Police Gear. LA Police Gear Jumbo Bail Out Bag Low price, but decent quality.

I have 4 range bags.

The fourth is gun and caliber specific.

The rest, just useful stuff.

I only have one gun, a 642-1. My range bag is just a basic backpack.

Contents:

Ear and eye protection
Rag
Screwdriver
Masking tape
8.5x11" notebook (sheets used for targets)
3x5" and 4x6" blank mailing labels (also used for targets)
Small notebook (for writing down notes)
Tape measure
Whatever ammo I plan on shooting
A couple of speedloaders
Dark Angel pocket trauma kit (gloves, tourniquet, Cellox gauze, duct tape, plastic wrap can be used as an occlusive dressing)

Without opening it and looking, here's what I can remember:

Hearing and sight protection.
Targets.
Staples and staple gun.
Screwdrivers.
Allen wrenches and Torx wrenches.
Band-aids.
Spotting scope.
Batteries.
Bean bags.
Wood dowels.
Plastic hammer.
