Location
Florida,South,hell.
After working all night I was restless.
I have recently re-worked my Dillon 1050 and set to testing it
loading a batch of 38 Special.
Using 4.4 gr. of 231 ,i loaded 158grain S.W.C.s and 125 Lead T.C.s

Called my friend Bubba Blades and opened the indoor range at 11 a.m.

The lighting is best at about 25 feet so that is where i did my shooting.

Here are a couple of pictures of the model 65-3 3" that I have tuned up
and put Laser grips on for use at home and locally at night around town.

25 feet, d.a. with 38 Special , about 40 rounds.

The trigger has been polished, the action smoothed. The hammer has been de horned
and the thumb latch relieved and smoothed over. the charge holes are chamfered.

All in all a very slick little F frame magnum.

Then 6 rounds in about an inch S.A. with factory 158gr. j.h.p.s

6 more rounds expanded the group to 2 inches with a little flyer.

The model 65 has difficult extraction with 357s. especially 158s.

Then I shot the little model 60-4 , the gun that thinks its a
baby J Combat 38. it handles like a bigger K frame and I
kept the group about 3-4 inches at 21 feet D.A.

This is about 50 rounds.

Not bad for iron sights with these old eyes. :p .

Then I got really tired and went home and took a shower and went to bed.

Good luck

I cannot say enough good things about Allen's action jobs and reloads. His guns shot great.
My main reason for being at the range yesterday was to adjust the POA/POI of my Model 64. This is a fixed sight gun so I used JB Weld to build up the front sight (in this case for a gun that shot 3.25" high at 25 yards) and file down the excess blade height until POA = POI. Thanks to Alen's consistant 158 grain reloads, I was able to get this snubby to shoot a 1 1/4" six shot group at 25 yards. My trigger is heavy and somewhat gritty but this just makes it a better canidate for one of Allen's action jobs. Now that I have the correct front blade height, I will have my welding buddy build up the front sight with stainless steel and I will file it down to the necessary 1mm increase.
