I have mine on a long QD mount, it bridges the upper and quad rail. It actually seems to help make everything more rigid and improves accuracy, which is also unaffected using a bi-pod.

That is another technique here, but the intention of the mount is the stay off the front rail, or where you don't have a front rail.
Is that a bug buster? I'm not sure mine has whatever is on the top eye end of your, but besides that looks the same.
