Received my M&P 15 Sport yesterday, field stripped it and cleaned it as per the manual.
Took it to the range this morning, not really ideal conditions, extremely humid and light rain but not to the point of deterring me from trying out the new gun
Shot 140 rounds as follows:
20 rounds PMC 5.56 X-TAC 55gr brass case FMJ
30 rounds PMC 223A 55gr brass case FMJ
40 rounds Tula 223 62gr steel case FMJ
40 rounds Tula 223 55gr steel case FMJ
30 rounds MFS 223 55gr zinc plated steel case FMJ
Shot at 25 and 50 yards, did mostly sets to 5 - 10 rounds at moderate pace but also did a couple of 'unloads' of 20 rounds.
No FTFs or FTEs or any other issues whatsoever. The Sport gobbled up everything and sent it downrange nicely. All the rounds had a similar feel to them, independent of the ammo used, and the spent shells all landed in a nice little pile some 7 - 10 feet away at my "4 o'clock". The only exception was the MFS nickled plated steel which landed a bit further behind me at 5 o'clock.
Accuracy was good, the iron sights were about an inch high and to the left at 25 yards out of the box, very easy to adjust. Groupings seemed good for what I was doing (unassisted, seated, iron sights, consistently fogged up glasses).
The gun felt *really* good, it is going to end up costing me a lot in ammo consumption
