Wow I just got back from the range
and I can say that the M&P9
is my favorite handgun!
It was extremely accurate which I was worried about
when I read on forums about accuracy issues,
but mine had none! The Magazines will take a bit of time to loosen up
and they tend to lock up and a few times,
but I'm sure that will change.
Thank you Smith & Wesson for an awesome
handgun keep up the great work!

I never go by what I read on the internet. Most things. My M&P9 was awesome out of the box. I didnt even clean it. Some people say you should. But since then I have shot over 2000 rounds through it,No problems. I also have shot my fisrt IDPA match finishing 2nd in my class. Enjoy the M&P9. Check BOTACH web site. I just got more mags for the M&P9 for $19.95 free shipping and no tax.:D

Congrats on the M&P9! Mine is more accurate than I can shoot. While it will work being dirty for some time but a clean gun is more likely to work when you need it. The mag springs will loosen with more rounds through them.

Thanks guys, and congrats AR for placing 2ed thats
impressive! I was actually looking for a few extra magazines
so thanks again for the website recommendation :D

What distance did you shoot at?

I'm 63 years old. I'm not an expert by any means. I shot these groups at 25 yds using this gun...an M&P 9mm 5"Pro Series. Yes I have done a lot to it including a Storm Lake barrel, Apex Tactical DCAEK and cosmetic work such as slide serrations, stippling, paint and the like. I used 147g Fiocci FMJ ammo. So as you see not all M&P 9MM are bad shooters. Hell if I was 20 years younger with better eyes I'm sure it would have been even better:p

I too was very concerned about the FS 9mm accuracy issues. I almost picked a Glock 17 instead. I went ahead and bought the M&P 9mm FS, manufacture date March 2012. I am issued a M&P 40 FS so I am use to the gun and trigger. I qualified out of the box 98.7% on my agency's stress course. I fired 100 rounds, 115 grain Winchester FMJ and 124 grain Speer GDs. l did not have one issue, trigger was better than I thought, even felt a pronounced reset. I am not sure if I will fool with an APEX trigger kit. I attached picture from 21 feet /7 yard. As you can see, I was firing rapid fire and kept a tight circle. Not to go into a debate of caliber, but the M&P FS 9mm holds 17 rounds, light weight and to me conceals well in most settings. It is dead accurate and so far reliable. I plan to put another 200 rounds before I declare it ready to carry. Bottom line; well made, accurate and reliable.

Thanks. It was my first time at the IDPA match. I would like to post a video if anybody knows how.

You must be one hell of a shooter if you can shoot consistent sub inch groups at 75 feet unsupported.

I'm glad someone else considers the M&P9 for CCW.
I tried and it fits perfectly in the small
of my back like nothing was there.
Does anyone else carry there?
Also has anyone put Truglo sights on their M&P9?
I wonder how well the factory night sights
will do in a night SD situation.
I don't plan on attaching a weapon light either.

I carry my M&P at 4 o'clock in a FOG Holsters full battle rattle OWB holster.

That's from all those off brand "Kool Aid" drinkers from other sites that are jealous about our fantastic M&P handguns. They probibally don't even own one (M&P).

I do now and then. I found (from some other people),that getting the opposite holster that you normally carry/shoot from, like if you are a righty get a left or a lefty shooter get a righty holster. The cant of the holster is perfect for drawing from the small of your back.
