I picked this up today and would like to know it's worth.

3 1/4 inch BBL. Very (like new) tight action, all #s match,

Thanks
Tim

I'll take a shot at it. I'd say it is in the $150- $175 range

Nice catch, you'll enjoy shooting this one. If it's the original finish, which I think it is, I would put it about "good" condition or better and according to Suprica's book which is several years old, in "good" condition it would be worth about $275.
Try a little Flitz and elbow grease and it will look 100% better. Happy shooting.

Thanks, would there be any sense in having it re-finished by S&W. since the markings are all crisp. Or does it have more value in it's current state?

All so do they still make .32 long Ammo? And what is the power level equal to in todays calibers?

Thanks
Tim

Dodgeit,

The Factory won't refinish old guns which are out of production. (Their explanation is that they have no parts to repair it if needed).

I don't think that you would gain anything by having it refinished. You would certinly spend as much as the revolver is worth in its present condition and would add little, if anything, to its value.

Ammunition is available, if a little pricey. I don't have a ballistics chart here at the computer but the .32 Long certainly isn't something that I'd want to stake my life on. It is a fun round to shoot and is an adequate small game/vermin and plinking round. If the gun were mine, I'd polish it up as Moosedog suggested, then I'd get some ammo and use it for a pleasant "walk in the woods" gun.

Bob
